TG4 is a public service broadcaster for Irish-language (Irish Gaelic or Gaelic) speakers. The channel was launched in 1996. G4 was the third national station to be launched in Ireland. The channel
hosts seven hours of programming in Irish supported by a wide range of material in other languages, mostly English.
